Merry Christmas
and
Happy New Year
from the
Ruggles Family!
We pray that the Lord has blessed you this past year and that He will continue to do so in the New Year. 2007 has been a fun and challenging year for our family, but God has seen us through and for that we are thankful.

Ruth continues to be our world traveler. This past year took her many places including Texas over spring break and on two other occasions to visit friends, all over Kansas visiting friends and relatives, the Dominican Republic to help at Jarabacoa Christian School for three weeks and now she's on her way to Costa Rica to spend the semester at Veritas University in San Jose. She will be studying Spanish and International Business and also taking that photography class she's always wanted to take. Ruth turned 19 in 2007-our last year of having a teenager! She just finished up her 3rd semester at Kansas State. Right now her major is Human Resource Management with an emphasis in International Business and a minor in Spanish, but we'll see what the next two years hold for her. Ruth enjoyed working and attending Kansas State Football games and she even had a chance to pose with Willie the Wild Cat. It was nice having her home during the summer, she worked for a communication business here in town and learned how to do many new things including digging trenches and laying wire! It was a wonderful learning experience and she was still able to have some free time and take classes at our community college.

Peter is the one who stays close to home. He is currently a junior at Southwestern and is studying Bio-Chemistry. He took Chinese this past semester and, according to his teacher, was the best in the class. We enjoy having Peter close so he can come home for dinner (or laundry) every once and a while. But he also has done his own share of traveling this past year. Peter spent the summer in Carbondale, Illinois where he had a Chemistry internship at Southern Illinois University. That along with going to see friends has kept him pretty busy. He continues to enjoy playing video games and even won a Guitar Hero competition at SC this fall.

Steve and I can still be found in our normal places, although our lives have changed in many ways this past year. Steve is beginning his 14th year with Southwestern and is adjusting to the changes that come with a new boss at work. I am enjoying life without children but still manage to fill my time with church and community activities. I had to have surgery this summer, but with the help of Ruth and Steve, everything worked out great and I am now fully recovered and better than ever.

We are no longer helping with AWANA at our church which has been a big adjustment. But with the extra time, we have been able to get more involved with it on the district level helping other churches that have AWANA programs. AWANA also took us to Jamaica in March where we were able build a hard court for a church and help with their AWANA program. We are still involved in other church activities, Steve is a Deacon and Usher and he also had fun playing on the church volleyball team this fall-I kept score and cheered as loud as I could!

Another big change in our family this year included cell phones. In March, Ruth convinced us that she could no longer live without a cell phone and shortly after we all followed. We decided to drop our land phone and go entirely mobile, but no worries, my cell phone number is the same as our old house phone.

Our extended family has also kept us busy this year. We helped Mom and Dad Ruggles celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family vacation in Branson during the first week of August, which was a nice break before life became crazy with school starting up again. In October we celebrated again with a reception at Tisdale with community friends and family. Over Labor Day weekend, we made the trip to Hoxie to help Mom and Dad Adams with house repairs and repainting the outside of their house. Ruth was also able to spend fall break with Grandma and Grandpa Adams which was a nice break from college for her.

We have enjoyed hearing from all of you this Christmas season and we pray blessings on your New Year.

Because of Jesus,
Steve and Veva Ruggles,
