Honduras Mission Trip

Day 6

- Honduras Home Page -

Wednesday morning we did the same morning routine and headed to work. Steve and Keith worked on finishing up the cutting out of the bunk beds. Brent helped the other workers in mixing concrete and in digging the laterals for the septic system.

Gordon, Mike, and Amillo went to purchase supplies to do the project at Victorias house. They also got some more supplies for us to cover the windows with screen and hail screen so that the windows could be left open at night and be secure and to keep out the mosquitoes.

After getting the lumber cut Keith and Steve put the first bunk bed together. Gordon and the rest of them didnt arrive back until after dinner. We accused them of stopping at the pool and sipping pina coladas. They told us that we just didnt understand how the stores here in Honduras worked and how long it took to get what we needed. We said yeah right and wondered if that was the best story they could come up with.

We assembled two more beds and installed the screens on the windows.

We went just down the road from our hotel to Sambo Creek for supper. Gordon, Keith and Brent had yellow-tail red snapper. Steve tried the Conch, which was like chewing on an inner tube. The menu said it would melt in your mouth, and he finally got it down.
